Dear Everyone Else in My Generation

I like the Constitution. It's pretty good. Fuck all y'all that don't agree. Those dudes had a lot more foresight and empathy for the human condition than any nation's leader in the last 50 (if not 250) years. Shit is getting real, REAL dark with how our government is treating us, and they are breaking the basic laws of this founding document. How the hell did this happen?!

Surreality

Man, that last post was kind of cryptic and surreal. Cool!

I have the new Andrew Jackson Jihad record! Jealous? Well, guess what? I get to record trombone on it, too! I'm gonna be laughing all the way to the bank!

Things!

Some things that are happening:

1. I have a myspace now. Myspace.com/mattkeeganmusic
2. a gig and recordings of my "Standards" trio with Kellen Harrison and Shawn Baltazor. Soon to be more gigs.
3. Some touring with Bomb The Music Industry!.
4. Hopefully playing music in a) Japan b) Chile and c) the U.K. this year. If only two of those happen I will be immensely pleased.
5. Hopefully more solo shows. How do you get solo shows, anyway?!
6. Speaking of solo shows, there will be 1-3 indie/punk-ish projects started this year in which I am the primary songwriter. We'll see how many of those actually come to fruition.

Goddamnit!

I really wish the stupid Alkaline Trio didn't take the best name for an album ever. I mean, shit, man! Every collection of songs I come up with (regardless of genre) feels like it should have that title. I mean, Alkaline Trio's "Goddamnit" was really good. Not the best, but really good nonetheless. I just wish I could have that title! So good!

Anyway, shit's going down here. LOTS of shit! Get ready! Gig on the first! Mayday is going to get things rolling! Actually, Actually is doing shit! My trio is doing shit! Some anarchist bastards are doing shit! There's so much swearing in this post! I hope my students don't read it.
